A community initiative was being refreshed, and a logo design was needed. This initiative was exchanging hands and was now managed by United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County. The goal was to refresh the existing identity without completely overhauling it, as the program already had strong brand recognition with its clientele. Since the initiative is a once-a-year event, it was important to maintain familiar elements so that returning participants would immediately recognize the program.
The key elements of the brand were the name and the symbol. The name remained unchanged, and the original logo featured a helping hand reaching for another. The decision was made to preserve this iconic graphical element while giving it a cleaner, more modern look to align with United Way's brand identity.
The updated logo was used across various community handouts, flyers, signage, and volunteer t-shirts during the event, helping reinforce the continuity of the program while signaling a refreshed identity under United Way's leadership.
